Blinded Blue
Blinded Blue
these streets can tell stories of twisters
climbing objects, falling half crazed
hands held and hearts broken
cars crashing, bikes vaulting balustrades
now they see masked men and women
black and white, all colours and ages
lawless law, ungoverning and ungoverned
bullets and molotovs beyond all gauges
what started as a righteous cause
has turned into a list of unmeetables
backed into corners of mansions and pink cadillacs
versus bloodied bricks of have-nots and unreachables
a new or old leader cannot fix this
decades old rot must be acknowledged
mirror reveals not black or white or any hue
just the half blind and all blue.
