Dreamstate

months, weeks, days, hours
culminate in languid showers
white and soft, cold and hot
tingled tangled cotton cloth

cobbled town from World War Two
in brick brewery not much to do
than sit, relaxing, discussing cover
from biplanes, cessnas flying over

transported to a different time
waking, sleeping, dinner, wine
a gentle brush across my hair
was my defining moment there

not long ago but seems an age
was it real or fast fading mirage
life has resumed its jagged pace
buoyed by images of warm embrace
