Laughter Etched in Memories

My dad was a character
who drew people
like no other.

Unendingly curious,
convincingly theatrical
irrepressibly irreverent;
he had the most fun
with his own foibles.

When he was buried,
our family gathered...
weeping and sorting,
we uncovered evidence
of his wicked humour,

and reminisced
about things he did
to make us laugh,
and through our tears,
doubled up.

23 years later,
laughter still
etched in memories..

Rare skill he had.
My dad.
