I look at Christmas
as a time of wonder
a time of possibilities
a time to ponder
on how it happened
one of life's great mysteries

a simple story
of family struggles
to find place
to hide from sight
a Virgin Mother
a wondering father
a saviour born that night

the Christ in Christmas
gifts us with blessings,
love and hope

our families are
not much different
we have our struggles
pain and strife
our choice is now
to follow wisely
and let the Christ child
into our life

Bridge
a child so wise, so all embracing
he loved the world for what it was
not one to be discriminating
he sought the good
through all our flaws

why wait for Christmas
to show our love
why wait for just one day a year
I pray we grace mankind
each hour of every day
with love and Christmas cheer
