No More Should’ves

No More Should’ves

some trees blossom, some trees don’t
some spread roots quite wide
I am one that waited long
to discover what I hide

I have acorns squirrelled away
buried dreams and schemes
I hope to take them out some day
when will I know it’s time?

Ch
No more regrets
No more should’ves
No more I wish I could’ve
I’m gonna take what life can give
No more should’ve could’ve would’ves

I’m not an oak, immovable
nor rose bush with its thorns
I’m not an angel with a halo
nor a devil wearing horns

I’m just a girl who followed rules
who did what was expected
now I feel like such a fool
don’t wanna live to regret it

It’s taken me all these years
to find out who I am
starting anew despite my fears
I guess that now’s my time
