I brought a bouquet of flowers
candy in a box
I waited patiently for hours
at the door with fool proof locks

but you were nowhere to be found
so I double checked my clock
with squinty eyes I looked around
for the sun the clouds did block

I walked in heels to where he stood

long curling hair and worn out denims

he stood there, back against the glare
quite the opposite of that
clean cut, suited, short cropped hair
no sign of a hat

he held flowers with magic potions
